Alright folks, let me tell you about my little adventure in Hogwarts Legacy. I was itching to change the look of my gear without sacrificing the stats, you know? So, I dove headfirst into figuring out how to alter the style of an item. Here’s how it went down.

Next up, actually changing the look. Opened up the character gear menu – you know, the one where you see all your equipped items. Hovered over the piece of gear I wanted to tweak. Let’s say it was my trusty cloak.
The “Change Look” Option Appears!
Here’s where the magic happens. When you highlight a piece of gear, you should see a prompt that says something like “Change Look” (or maybe “Alter Appearance,” but you get the idea). I think it was press “F” on PC. Hit that button, and you’re in!
Choosing a New Style
This pulls up a whole new menu showing you all the different styles you can apply to that piece of gear. Now, the cool thing is, it shows you all the appearances you’ve ever had for that type of item. So, if you found a hat early in the game that you really liked the look of, even if you replaced it with something better stat-wise, its appearance is still there! Started scrolling through my options. I had a few different cloak styles to choose from, some I’d found, some I’d bought.
Applying the Change and Rocking the New Look
Once I found the style I wanted – I went with this kinda weathered, rugged look for my cloak – just selected it. Then, I think I had to hit another button to confirm (probably “Equip” or something along those lines). And that was it! My cloak now looked exactly how I wanted it, but kept all the sweet stats from the actual gear I was wearing. Walked around a bit to admire my handiwork. Looked pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
