Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Ohtani, and his new lady. Folks been yappin’ ’bout it somethin’ fierce, so I figured I’d chime in. Now, I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, ya know?

Ohtani, that baseball fella, he got hitched! Yep, seems like even them famous folks get lonely and need a partner. Heard tell he married a real “special” gal named… somethin’ Tanaka. Mamiko, I think it was. Don’t know her from Adam, but good for him, I say. A man needs a good woman to keep him fed and keep his socks clean, ain’t that the truth?
This Ohtani fella, he plays ball real good, hits it a country mile they say. And throws it too! Must make a pretty penny doin’ that. Hope that girl of his knows how to handle a man with money. Money can make folks crazy, ya know? Seen it happen ‘fore. But I reckon if she’s a good, down-to-earth gal, she’ll keep him grounded.
- They say she’s got a real nice smile.
- Folks seen pictures, I guess.
- I ain’t seen ’em myself, too busy milkin’ the cows and tendin’ to the chickens.
- But a smile, well, that can tell ya a lot ’bout a person.
- A genuine smile, that is. Not one of them fakey ones like them city slickers wear.
Now, they kept it hush-hush for a while, didn’t say who she was right off the bat. Maybe she’s shy, or maybe they just wanted some peace and quiet. Can’t blame ’em for that. Them reporters, they’re like a pack of hounds, always sniffin’ around for somethin’ to write about. Leave the poor folks alone, I say!
Heard they got married back in, uh, 2013 or somethin’. No, wait, that ain’t right. That’s when somethin’ else happened. They got hitched recent-like. It was in the news, all over the place. My grandson, he reads me the news sometimes when he ain’t out chasin’ girls or playin’ them video games. He told me ’bout it. Said it was a big deal.
Anyways, I hope they’re happy, them two. Marriage ain’t always easy, ya know? It takes work, and compromisin’, and a whole lotta patience. But if they love each other and respect each other, they’ll be alright. That’s the key, ya see? Love and respect. And maybe a good cookin’ pot and a strong broom.

Heard tell this Ohtani fella plays for the Dodgers now. Don’t know much ’bout them Dodgers, but I reckon they’re a good team if he’s playin’ for ’em. Hope they treat him right. And I hope that girl of his, that Mamiko, she gets along with the other wives. Them wives can be a cliquey bunch, ya know? Always gossipin’ and comparin’ and whatnot. Just gotta keep your head down and mind your own business, that’s what I always say.
So, there ya have it. Ohtani got married. That’s the long and short of it. Nothin’ too fancy, just a man and a woman, startin’ a life together. Wish ’em all the best, I do. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them biscuits I got in the oven. Don’t want ’em to burn, ya know.
And let me tell ya somethin’ else, young folks these days, they get married all fancy-like, with big parties and expensive dresses. Back in my day, we just went down to the courthouse and got it done. Didn’t need all that fuss and bother. Just needed a good man and a willin’ heart. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? The love, not the fancy stuff.
Anyways, I’m done yappin’ now. Go on and do your thing. Just remember, love is love, no matter who you are or where you come from. And that’s the truth, I tell ya.
